FAWCO will be having its next Interim Conference in Dublin, Ireland in March 2012 (click here for the dates, you must be logged in). In addition to the conference being our annual general meeting with reports from all facets of FAWCO business, delegates will elect a new Board of Directors for The FAWCO Foundation. Local and international speakers will cover a variety of global and club-level issues. There will be an update on FAWCO's Target Water Project, in partnership with The FAWCO Foundation, benefiting Tabitha Cambodia Wells for Clean Water. The FAWCO Foundation will announce education awards winners and development grants recipients, and conduct their annual silent auction charity evening. This year, there will also be a water-themed photography and painting exhibit from our members.

Each FAWCO club would send one delegate to be the voting member for that club: this is usually the President or the FAWCO rep. for the club. Click here to see past conferences. To register, please log in to the FAWCO website and click Register above.

THE CITY:

DSCF1014Dublin is widely acknowledged as one of Europe’s loveliest and liveliest capital cities.  Established as a Viking settlement on the River Liffey over 1,000 years ago, it gradually became an important commercial and cultural centre. Today the city is bustling, with a population of over 1.7 million including many recent immigrants from all over the world.  Despite its cosmopolitan feel, Dublin retains a strong and distinct cultural identity expressed in a love of literature, drama, and traditional music. The city has a world-famous literary pedigree, producing more than its share of prominent writers. The national treasures of Ireland are concentrated in the museums and galleries of Dublin.  The National Museum of Archeology, the Writer’s Museum, The Hugh Lane Gallery, The National Gallery, The Chester Beatty Library and the Old Library at Trinity College which houses the magnificent medieval masterpiece, the Book of Kells,  are all located within a few minute’s walk from one another in the city centre.
