In addition FAWCO has joined the members
of the CONGO Working Group on the Girl Child, in a statement to
reaffirm and call attention to the inherent dignity and the equal and
inalienable rights of the girl child, expressing our concern in regard
to the practices of girl infanticide and female foeticide, which deny
the girl-child the most basic human right, the right to be born.
