This year the 57th UN Commttee on the Status of Women (CSW) meeting in New York this month passed a landmark agreement with representatives of some 6000 NGO's who joined forces and spoke in one voice to demand an end to widespread violence against women and girls. They came up with a comprehensive list of 69 various recommendations that countries should follow to stem the rising tide of physical, sexual and mental violence against women and girls.
