You are aging. Yes, YOU. The symphony of your life begins the moment you arrive on this earth. As the composer and conductor, you have the pen and the baton in your hand, with the ability to control how you age and direct your personal well-being. Every musical score has different movements and different instrumental sections – and we are the masters in providing the musical score for each. What is the tempo of your life? How will you ensure a healthy, melodious life?
“Symphony for a Healthy Life” is a new series from the Health Team to highlight what it means to be healthy – at any age – supporting the “Decade of Healthy Aging 2020–2030” launched by the World Health Organization (WHO). To begin with, we discuss a key element: fitness.
Margaret Hilditch (Munich IWC), a fitness and music lover, will help us explore this topic. Margaret is curious to know how the reality of COVID-19 has changed your attitude toward your physical health. Are you listening differently to your body?
“Lockdown for us commenced in New Zealand. Our only physical activity was walking until we had permission to book flights home. Who would have thought that almost a year later most countries are still grappling with rising cases, ways to control the spread of the virus and the additional challenge since the detection of new strains of the virus! The vaccine is our greatest hope.
I am extremely thankful for my love of the outdoors and my good health and fitness. There is no doubt on sunny days, I clock more than my daily goal of 12,000 steps. I am fortunate to live close to green areas with access to the Cotswold Way. Listening to the music nature makes is my mental relaxation and planning time.” – Margaret
The Health Team invites you to join us in launching this composition by completing the attached questionnaire, “Use It or Lose It.” Share it with your Clubs on Facebook, post it in your newsletters. Thank you! Use It or Lose It!
We all have music to share! How do you compose your life for health and well-being? What does “Being Healthy at any Age” mean to you? Do you have a topic you would like to share or suggest? Let us know: .
