AILO Florence celebrated St. Valentine in style with a Dinner / Dance FAWCO fundraiser, raising money for the FAWCO TARGET Water Project.
a four course meal was served, and between dishes participants were drawn onto the dance floor by Donald Francis and the students of L'Atelier de Danse, they foxtrotted and waltzed and danced to the nostalgic strains of 'Ragtime'. It was magic to see the enjoyment on their faces, everyone was out to have a good time, the combination of delicious food and wine, music, dancing and convivial company ensured that this is exactly what happened.
Deirde (AILO's FAWCO rep) and Jocelyn (FAWCO Water Project fundraiser) had the opportunity to talk about FAWCO and the projects this dance was supporting, which made everyone even happier. This was a perfect FUNdraiser, the only problem being that people did not want to go home, they would have danced all night!!!
The meal was prepared by Jocelyn, Paula and Clare, with contributions for the starters and desserts from AILO members, Donald took care of the music and led the dances, managing to get most people onto the floor and the evening was so successful, AILO has been asked to do something like this again very, very soon!!
