AWC Luxembourg made close to €2500 at the May Clean Water Cultural Evening!! That means 35 more wells will be built in Cambodia through the FAWCO Clean Water project. 35 more wells means at least 100 more families will be able to access clean water daily. It means hundreds of children will stay alive and healthy. It means more productive farming, more food to eat and more to sell at the market. And it means more children, especially more girls, will be able to attend school. Because girls are in charge of water collection, AWCL alone has helped hundreds of girls stay in school instead of spend their days searching for clean water for their families.
The evening’s success came not only from AWC Luxembourg members, spouses and friends who organized and attended the event, but also from a talented set of painters and musicians. A big thanks to baritone Ignacio Gonzalez for his beautiful water-related songs and Elizabeth Turner for her impeccable piano accompaniment. Another thanks to Taiwanese artist Jifon Tang, who has shown her works in the Grand Palais in Paris and numerous galleries around France, to German artist Heidi Bogner, whose gallery and cafe in Traben-Trarbach is a must-see and to Luxembourgish artist Sonja Sibenaler, who welcomes you to view more of her works in Hostert. Once again, AWC Luxembourg has changed the world for the better.
