Dear FAWCO Members,
You are one of over 7,000 members who belong to FAWCO. When you were searching to join a community and found your local club, you joined us. And we are so glad you did! Since 1931, FAWCO has brought together inspiring women working towards common goals of peace, multicultural understanding, and international goodwill; supporting women and girls; and defending the rights of Americans living overseas. At this time of year, we invite you to reflect on how FAWCO has supported your Club, you and your community and we ask you to participate with us this GivingTuesday by making a gift to FAWCO. All of the funds raised through this GivingTuesday campaign will be used to support FAWCO’s work in fulfilling its mission to support our Clubs and their members.
For the first time since 2018, FAWCO is participating in GivingTuesday. Our operational budget is solely funded by Club membership dues and advertising, which unfortunately do not cover all our expenses. Annually, FAWCO provides our 57 Clubs and over 7,000 members with opportunities to join empowering conferences, enlightening virtual seminars, powerful conversations and educational workshops. There are many resources offered to support clubs as well. We are here for you and your local club community! As FAWCO’s goal is to keep our Club membership dues as low as possible, we are exploring ways to broaden our reach to FAWCO members who may be interested in providing additional support.
I usually donate to The FAWCO Foundation. Why is FAWCO participating in GivingTuesday? While The FAWCO Foundation is the philanthropic heart of our organization, FAWCO does not receive funding from The FAWCO Foundation. The Foundation's fundraising efforts are specifically directed towards the Education Awards, Development Grants and the Target Project. If you would like to donate to The FAWCO Foundation, we encourage you to go to their website www.fawcofoundation.org and follow the instructions noted there. FAWCO’s GivingTuesday goal is not to distract or deter you from the fundraising efforts of The FAWCO Foundation.
How do I participate in GivingTuesday?
- Mark your calendar for November 29, 2022. Note that the campaign ends on December 31, 2022.
- Give. On November 29, go to FAWCO's Facebook Fundraiser page or to FAWCO's website link and donate. FAWCO is a 501(c)(3) organization and you will receive a US tax deductible receipt for your donation. No fees are charged by Facebook for processing your donation.
- Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating a real impact on November 29 by sharing what FAWCO’s mission means to you and why you support our organization. Make sure you use the following hashtags #GivingTuesday #FAWCOGivingTuesday #FAWCO and also tag us at @FAWCO so that we can share the message!

What is GivingTuesday?
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Last year, over $2.7 billion was raised in over 80 countries to support local communities, non-profits, foundations, schools and families.
How is FAWCO generally funded?
FAWCO does its best to keep our Club membership dues as low as possible and is looking to broaden our reach to members who may be interested in providing additional support. Is there a Matching Campaign?
Yes, there is, but only if you choose to make a recurring donation to FAWCO through the Facebook Fundraiser interface before December 31. Facebook's parent company META will match your second payment, up to $100 per donor, and up to $100,000 for FAWCO. Full details can be found here. Your US tax deductible donations will go directly to FAWCO (no fees charged by META/Facebook) and will be used to support FAWCO’s mission to our Member Clubs.
