News You Can Use June 2012
|
We would like to thank FAUSA for their continued support of The FAWCO Foundation's programs.
Unfortunately, in the recently published edition of the 2012 Summer FORUM, the FAUSA MEMBERS SKILLS ENHANCEMENT AWARD was not listed with the other awards and winners. We would like to congratulate the winner of the $5000 Award, AWC Bern member Carol McEowen.
Created by and for FAWCO clubs in 1972, the Awards Program recognizes and honors the academic excellence and all-around achievement of the children of FAWCO and FAUSA members as well as of FAWCO members themselves.
The 2013 Award categories will be announced in the fall and we encourage all FAWCO and FAUSA members to review them and to apply if you, your children or grandchildren (Dual Culture Award only) qualify for one of the Awards.

We Need Your Support
Development Grants and Education Awards are the core of The Foundation. Annually grants are awarded to help those less fortunate, and education awards are given to FAWCO members and family members in hopes of fulfilling their academic dreams.
These grants are made possible due to the determination, commitment and generosity of you and your clubs. This year we need sponsors and cosponsorsmore than ever. It's our annual Development Grants and Education Awards that make FAWCO and The FAWCO Foundation a vital member of the global community, and in keeping the the United Nations Millennium Goals. It's our legacy - help us support these programs.

"WELL" DESERVED DESSERTS"
is now on
The Foundation website
Check it Out!
"Well" Deserved Desserts, is a campaign to support FAWCO Member clubs in their effort to raise money for the FAWCO Target Water Project.
Right now there are four great ideas -"Recipes for Success" on the website. These "Recipes for Success" are fundraising modules that will help you with your fundraising event. Along with the Recipe tip sheet, we have provided suggested letters, press releases, and other templates that you can download. We believe they will be helpful in organizing your big event! We are also offering the help of our Sous Chefs; volunteers online to answer questions that individual clubs might have about the event.
The "Well" Deserved Desserts campaign runs through December 2012 so there is still time for clubs to plan a "Well" Deserved Dessert event. Recognition awards will be given for outstanding efforts at all levels. The final results will be announced at the FAWCO conference in March 2013.
