Charleen Fondrevay, one of the Environment Team members, will be helping to report on the Climate Conference in Paris. Charleen lives in Madrid where a climate march held on November 29. If you live elsewhere on the globe, we hope you found out what was happening close to you and got involved!
The Alianza por el Clima, a group of 400 Spanish organizations is organizing a march here in Madrid on the 29th of November, one day before the opening of the Paris Climate Conference (COP21). Originally, a multinational march was to take place in Paris on the same date but had to be cancelled for security reasons.
Madrid is taking to the streets to highlight both the urgency to protect the climate and to show solidarity with France and especially the citizens of Paris during this time of pain and loss. Citizens are encouraged to add their voices and energy to demanding that the world leaders participating in the conference put aside political agendas and commit to meaningful guidelines, limits, and deadlines to protect the worldwide environment.
